Is This Your Constraint?

When Your Site Needs Environmental Consulting Services

CFD Modeling Services Show Where Your Emissions Go Across The Site

Screening models and stack formulas give a first answer. They can't show what buildings, terrain, and capture hoods do to the flow.

Without that picture, teams oversize scrubbers, stacks, and fans to stay safe, and pay for the capacity every year. Or they find the problem in a stack test, a complaint, or an inspection, where every fix costs time.

Our environmental consulting services use CFD to show where emissions, odors, dust, and heat travel, inside the plant and across the site. Then we refine the emissions capture system design on screen, from stacks to hoods and ducts, before anything is bought.

✓

Plumes reach nearby buildings

Exhaust is pulled back into air intakes.

✓

Capture hoods don't capture

Fugitive emissions escape before the control.

✓

Neighbors report odor or dust

Plumes travel where the screening model said they wouldn't.

✓

New limits apply to an existing process

Controls sized for old rules may fall short.

✓

Workers stand near emission sources indoors

Exposure depends on airflow nobody has mapped.

✓

Scrubbers and fans were sized up just in case

You pay for that capacity every year.

We stand behind the design through production and supply issues.

Our engineers run CFD, FEA, and DFMA as one loop. CFD maps the flow and dispersion. FEA checks the stacks, ducts, and supports. Layout changes follow, and cost is checked before anything is bought. It is the same method behind all our CFD consulting services.

FAQ

Environmental Consulting Services Questions Engineers Ask

Straight Answers On Scope, Data, IP, And What Happens If A Test Fails

When does a site need environmental consulting services with CFD?

Four Signs Your Emissions Need A Real Model, Not A Formula

A site needs environmental consulting services with CFD when buildings, terrain, or capture equipment change how emissions move. Screening formulas assume open, flat ground and steady wind. Real sites have obstacles, hoods, and stacks that bend the flow, so the formula can be wrong in either direction. Watch for four signs. Plumes reach nearby air intakes. Capture hoods leak before the control. Neighbors report odor or dust. Or a new limit applies to an existing process, as EPA's ethylene oxide standards for sterilizers did in 2024. Guess too low and you fail a test. Guess too high and you pay for capacity you never use.

In a free assessment, we review your project scope and process data and show where CFD adds value. If a regulatory model is enough, we say so. If not, our environmental CFD analysis maps the plume, the capture, and the airflow in detail. Air quality simulation services like this support your permit work. They also tell you what to change in the stacks, hoods, and ducts.

Does CFD replace regulatory dispersion models?

CFD Works Alongside Regulatory Models, Not In Place Of Them

No. Our environmental consulting services use CFD alongside the regulatory air quality modeling your permit requires, not in place of it. Regulatory models estimate concentrations over large areas with approved methods. CFD answers questions those models can't answer about the flow near your buildings and stacks. Each has a job. Using the wrong tool costs you either way, in money or in permits. A regulatory model can't show how a plume wraps around a building or re-enters an intake. CFD alone can't stand in for the approved method on a permit. EPA lists AERMOD and its other preferred models for permit work, and your permit stays on them.

CFD is the right tool for designing stacks, hoods, and ducts, and for explaining a problem the screening model missed. It shows how much of a release a hood captures, so you can choose the right emission capture technology. We document every assumption and input, so your permitting consultant or regulator can follow it. Most projects use both tools, at different stages of the work.

What do you need from us to start?

Send Your Data And Targets; Your Roadmap Starts From There

To start environmental consulting services work, send what you have, in any format. That usually means a site plan or CAD of the buildings and stacks, plus emission rates, temperatures, and flows. Add your permit or exposure limits, and any stack test results or complaints you have. Missing data is the most common reason engineering projects stall, and it costs you time and budget. A model built on guessed inputs gives a guessed answer. Weather data is a common gap, and EPA's SCRAM site lists the meteorological data that regulatory models use. That is why we don't start the work until every data set is in.

Once it is, the first step is a free assessment of your project scope and data. We confirm what the work can and can't answer, and tell you what is still missing. Then we send a roadmap proposal with scope, targets, and approval gates. Every project is scoped on its own, so the roadmap sets the schedule, not a stock promise. NDAs are available before you share any files.

Who owns the design and the models?

The Design, Drawings, And Models Belong To You At Delivery

You own the IP from your environmental consulting services project by default, set in your contract. That covers the design, the drawings, and the models. Some firms keep the models, or license them back to you, so every later change sends you back to them and their rates. That locks your site to one vendor for every future permit question. It also makes reviews harder, because your team can't open the evidence behind each decision. If your program falls under export rules, data handling matters too. The State Department's ITAR guidance sets the rules for defense data, and a loose process puts you at risk.

At delivery, you receive the native CAD, the drawings, the model files, and the documented results. Your engineers can check the work, rerun a weather case, or hand the package to a regulator or supplier. We sign mutual NDAs before any data is shared. Your files stay in controlled project folders. Tell us your data rules at the start, and we set up handling to match.

What happens if the installed system doesn't perform as modeled?

If We Missed It In Our QC, We Fix It; Test Data Improves Design

If controls designed through our environmental consulting services don't perform as modeled, we find out why. Real weather, process swings, and installation effects never match a model perfectly on day one. Because you approve the data at each gate, a test result is checked against predictions you have already seen. A failed stack test feels like a setback, but it is useful data. It shows which assumption was wrong: an emission rate, a weather case, or a boundary condition. Without a plan, that data gets argued over instead of used to fix the design. The ASME V&V 20 standard sets out how to judge CFD against test.

When you need environmental testing services, we plan them with a partner lab to confirm the concentrations and capture rates that matter most. Then we correlate the model to the results. If the miss was ours, because something slipped through our QC review, we fix it. If the test finds a condition nobody knew about, we scope the change with you and update the roadmap.

How are environmental consulting services priced?

Priced To The Value We Deliver, Never To The Hours We Log

We price environmental consulting services to the value they deliver, not the hours we log. Hourly billing rewards extra iterations. The cheapest quote often becomes the most expensive project once rework and failed tests show up. Our incentive is to get the design right the first time. We engage by fit, not as a ladder, and you can move between them. Gold (from $35K): you have one project and need help with it. Platinum (from $15K/mo): you have recurring work at a steady rhythm. Diamond (from $800K/yr): you have a long development program, often multi-year. Federal buyers can also use the SBA's SDVOSB set-aside program.

Gold is never required, and some clients start at Platinum or Diamond. These are starting points, not quotes or bids. Your price comes from the free assessment, where we review your project scope, data, and goals and send a roadmap proposal with scope and cost. We price to the value we deliver, not the hours we log. If the value isn't there for you, we'll say so in the assessment.
